The Nerve!

I wonder if my mom ever got comments like these from strangers who made it their business to point out that she had 7 children. I just had my third and even I got looks in the hospital when I said that I had a 4-year old and a 18-month old at home. They looked at me like I was a stupid little girl with poor judgment.
Others thought that it was wonderful that I was willing to be a mom. My feeling is that it is up to my husband and me how many children we have and how close we decide to have them. I know that it's a privilege to be a mother and an opportunity that not all women are presented with. I love each of my kids and I take good care of them. If anyone wants to question that- Bring. It. On.

I never did understand why people think it's their business to tell you what's right or what's wrong for your family. You're a great Mom. Each of your kids is lucky to have you.

Boo...that's just mean, sometimes someone can just be a real poop. :P I'm astounded how you can have 3 kids and they are all great kids (from what I hear anyway :D)...and it amazes me how Lynette raised all those boys and they all turned out great

LOL, I love that response!

People are so ridiculous sometimes, I honestly can't believe the things that come out of the mouths of perfect strangers. I DO NOT like when people don't have common courtesy or a sense of tact.

You go girl! Some people don't understand other's reasonings for having children when they do. I can say that my mom is constantly telling others that she doesn't want to be a grandmother, and that her children aren't allowed to have children until she is long gone. Sad, but that's how she feels. I do agree with you that it is only up to YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND as to how many children you want and when you want them. No one else has the right to judge you or tell you that it's not a good time. Don't let them get to you - you're too smart and too awesome of a person to let others who are jealous of what you have get to you.

When I was getting my nails done for my wedding the lady before me was probably in her late 30s, early 40s and her & her husband had just had their first child. She told me my then future husband and I should wait to have kids because you can buy them the "expensive" diapers if you and your husband are settled in a career. I thought that was crazy (but kept my opinion to myself), a child isn't going to care what kind of diaper is on it's bottom. I'm glad we had children before then, they are such a blessing. People just need to learn how to be nice and keep their own opinion to themselves, they have no idea what the reasoning behind anyone's decisions are.

Well...yes I did get comments! But mostly I just got dirty looks. You know...kind of like you have a disease and they don't want to get too close for fear they'll "catch" it.

But honestly, you're kids are SO CUTE you should have a DOZEN! That's what my mom always used to say to me! It always made me feel good. So go for it Gwennie Girl!

I guess people are just jealous that they can't handle being a mom like you can. I certainly can't do more than one just yet... I am a wimp, I know. Kudos to you for being the wonderful mom you are, Gwen! I admire you very much!
