Me, I'd rather be good at lots of stuff. Maybe that's because I've never been the best at anything though, so I don't know what that's like. But it seems like being good at a lot of things gives you a bunch of opportunities to taste success and make friends in lots of arenas.
If you are the best baseball player in the league but you break your back and are paralyzed, then you're not the best anymore. But if you are a good ball player, conversationalist, writer, water skier, movie critic, cook, and painter then you still have things that you can succeed at even though you can't do all of those things you used to do if you broke your back.
I agree with Katie. I would rather be good at many things... because even if I picked one thing I wanted to be the BEST at, chances are someone would still be better! I'd rather be an equal than better than someone anyway.
I have a blog to save the lives of my four children. They are cute, but they can be stinkers. Creating a place to journal their antics has given me perspective. Now when they do something that would usually have my veins exploding, I grab my camera and think, "This will make a great post!"
